No VOCs, Not Now, Not Ever

No VOCs, Not Now, Not Ever - TREND Group understands the concern

You are only as good as the air you breathe! That’s why choosing building materials that are devoid of volatile organic compounds (zero VOC) is rapidly becoming the preferred choice among today’s new construction and remodeling contractors.

Research has shown average Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors; while an Environmental Protection Agency report on indoor air quality notes concentrations of some pollutants have increased indoors in recent decades. The lack of ventilation in some energy-efficient building construction was cited as one possible cause, along with the increased use of synthetic building materials, furnishings, personal care products, pesticides and household cleaners containing volatile organic compounds, commonly referred to as VOCs. So, what are VOCs? According to the American Lung Association, volatile organic compounds are the gases emitted into the air from products or processes with some of the more familiar VOCs listed as benzene, formaldehyde, and toluene. The American Lung Association further notes that breathing VOCs can irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, can cause difficulty breathing, nausea, and can damage the central nervous center as well as other organs. Some VOCs can cause cancer, but not all VOCs have all these health effects. You can find more detailed information at

At TREND Group, we understand the concern over VOCs and are proud to say we only produce sustainable flooring and products from natural recyclable materials (such as stone and glass) containing no volatile organic compounds.
