That's a wrap on Dubai Design Week 2020! Join Global CEO Andrea Di Giuseppe as he invites you inside for a tour of our TREND Group showroom located in the heart of the Dubai Design District.
From November 9th to the 14th, the Dubai Design District hosted Dubai Design Week 2020, the 6th edition of the largest creative festival in the Middle East and the first major cultural event since the start of the pandemic. This year's edition addressed the role of the creative community in redesigning and rethinking the way we live and featured a hybrid mix of digital and indoor/outdoor physical activities, engaging more than 650 design professionals and creatives from all around the world in installations, exhibitions, talks and workshops.
To celebrate TREND Group Middle East's second participation in the festival, we entirely renovated our showroom with our newest mosaic decors inspired by the beauty of nature and modern fashion trends.
Upon entering the showroom, guests are welcomed with an installation of our newest Blue Orchids artistic mosaic collection featuring aureo inserts inspired by the grace of the notorious tropical flower. Bright colors combined with white gold tesserae create a simple, yet sophisticated and modern decoration.
A prestigious addition to the showroom is the Golden Stripes collection in artistic technique with aureo inserts, inspired by precious fabrics made of golden thread. The design reproduces the shades and ripples of the textile, conferring motion to the whole piece and finely decorating any surface.
The Gold Pink Stripes decor in CAD technique with aureo inserts is yet another great example of how fashion is among our favourite sources of inspiration for our collections. Inspired by precious fabrics made with refined colors and golden textiles, the contrast between dark and light shades lends the decor a nice vibrant, elegant look.
The design inspiration of the Black Hibiscus artistic mosaic collection derives from the tropical flower popularly used as an ornamental plant and cherished by famous French painter Paul Gaugin. The black and white gold reflections of the aureo inserts create a precious and elegant decoration of a great scenographic effect.
Velvet is a CAD mosaic interpretation of white silk fabrics that conveys lightness and purity. It is a fashionable and trendy decoration that lends itself ideally as a wall decoration for refined luxury environments.
"Mane nobiscum Domine" is the piece of Venice that Orsoni chose to bring to this year's Dubai Design Week. The gold mosaic tesserae represent shades of the view that welcomed ancient ships to the Venice Lagoon. While waiting in San Marco Bay during goods control, merchants could admire the majesty of the Floating City surrounding them. The view was so spectacular to be considered a divine gift: the Latin title of the work - meaning 'Remain with us, God' - refers to this belief.
In addition to welcoming guests in our showroom to catch a glimpse of our newest collections, we were also particularly delighted to be featured among the 150 leading international and regional design brands in the new Downtown Design Digital Fair. The Fair was conceived as an opportunity for both design professionals and design enthusiasts to network with these brands directly and be inspired by their latest collections and products.
It was truly motivating to see so many people passionate about art, design and creativity swing by the festival over the course of the week despite the exceptional circumstances in which this year's edition was held. If you find yourself visiting Dubai, don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in TREND's and Orsoni's stunning collections in our gorgeous showroom in the heart of the Dubai Design District.
We look forward to seeing you next year!
